Thomasin Toohie is a ceramicist and painter currently working in Mid Wales. Her ceramics are built in white or occasionally red earthenware. Each piece is fired three times, the last being the lustre firing. She enjoys the immediacy and fun of modeling in such a pliable material.
Her work often has a secondary function as a piece that encourages usage and interaction in a domestic setting, such as this tea container!
Thomasin's ancestral background is from traveling people on the canals and she believes her work subconsciously speaks of this tradition. I just adore her!
